The SICE Chair in Technologies for Safe and Sustainable Mobility has opened the call for submissions for the 3rd Edition of the SICE Chair Awards (2026), aimed at recognising outstanding Final Degree Projects (FDP) and Final Master’s Projects (FMP) focused on engineering and artificial intelligence applied to infrastructure management.
These awards aim to promote university talent and highlight the role of engineering and advanced digital technologies in the development of safer, more efficient and more sustainable infrastructures. The call is open to students from engineering programmes at Spanish universities whose projects propose innovative solutions with real or potential application in this field.
Submitted projects may address, among other areas, intelligent mobility, road safety, urban and interurban traffic management, tunnels and tolling systems, water management, environmental technologies, renewable energies or telecommunications. Particular consideration will be given to work incorporating technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cybersecurity, and information and communication technologies applied to infrastructure management.
The call includes two award categories. The Best Final Degree Project Award is endowed with €400, while the Best Final Master’s Project Award carries a €600 prize. Both awards also include an official certificate of recognition. Projects will be assessed by a specialised jury based on criteria such as technical quality, level of innovation, applicability of the proposed solution and its contribution to safer and more sustainable mobility.
Previous editions of the SICE Chair Awards have recognised high-quality academic projects, including research focused on advanced artificial intelligence models for prediction in energy systems and innovative approaches to the efficient management of infrastructures. Over time, the awards have become a recognised initiative for strengthening collaboration between academia, technology and infrastructure development.
