The main objective of the system is to capture, transmit, process and present information on the hydrological and hydraulic status of the Tagus river basin in order to assist in the management of available resources and the monitoring and prevention of failures. Data is collected every 15 minutes from 209 monitoring points spread across the 55,810 km2 basin to aid decision-making over a forecast horizon of up to 10 days.
