SICE will be in charge of the comprehensive maintenance of the facilities belonging to the Benidorm City Council

The Benidorm City Council has awarded SICE services for the comprehensive maintenance of the facilities belonging to the Benidorm’s City Council Consistorial Building. This service includes the maintenance of technical-legal, preventive, corrective, conductive and modification works of the facilities in Benidorm City Council for the next four years.

Maintenance includes all building facilities, from low voltage electrical appliances, lifting appliances, air conditioning and ventilation systems to anti-intrusion and CCTV systems. Also, general plumbing, masonry, carpentry and painting works are included. In fact, one of the main tasks SICE will carry out, within the contract scope, is repainting the metallic building structure (more than 3,900 m2), since according to the UNE law ISO 4638-3 the structure has a Re3 corrosion extent on an European scale.

The consistorial building, popularly known as the “rascasuelos” (“floorscraper” in English) due to its unusual horizontal layout, has awakened since its inauguration the interest of architects and the public in general, so it receives multiple visits throughout the year so its proper maintenance is very important. The construction is cantilevered and passers-by can pass beneath it. The large window of the building was covered with thick muds where the names and surnames of the more than 60,000 registered people that year were registered. Benidorm City Council is nowadays a modernity and avant-garde architecture symbol: the fact that the building appears in several TV spots attests to this.
