TYPE OF EVENT

ITS and Tunnels, Toll and Payment Methods

SICE, a global leader in technological solutions for road infrastructure and toll systems, is pleased to announce its participation in the prestigious IBTTA (International Bridge, Tunnel, and Turnpike Association) Annual Conference 2023. The event will take place at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle from October 7 to 10.

Recognized for its extensive experience in the intelligent management of tunnels and roads, as well as electronic toll systems, SICE will present its latest innovations and solutions designed to improve efficiency, safety and sustainability in road infrastructure and toll collection management. . The company will occupy a prominent exhibition space at the trade fair, where visitors will be able to learn up close about the projects carried out in the United States and the rest of the world.

During the event, visitors who come to the SICE stand will be able to discover its main innovations in the following areas:

  • Intelligent Toll Systems: SICE offers highly efficient traditional tolling and Free Flow solutions (both at the CSR and Back-Office level), based on our base of systems in production worldwide and adapted in a modular way to the needs of our clients. , which improve the user experience and optimize the management of toll collection on highway, tunnel and bridge networks. The company has recently successfully completed several projects in the United States, specifically in the states of Puerto Rico, Texas and Houston. Currently, SICE continues to implement its advanced Free-Flow tolling solutions in Harris and Hidalgo counties as well as on Puerto Rico’s main highways, where the island’s tolling infrastructure is being modernized. In all its electronic toll projects, SICE offers top-level technology, incorporating new advances in all projects, such as the recent incorporation of Lidar systems for the volumetric classification of vehicles, as well as the ability to interconnect with other third-party subsystems. (interoperability and commercial backoffice). SICE toll systems are agnostic to the instrumentation selected for the system on the highways. This allows it to offer functional and cost-efficient solutions for projects thanks to the flexibility of injecting new ideas and cutting-edge equipment into the system without changing its basic technology.
  • Asset Management: SICE is a top-level technology integrator capable of offering global solutions for asset management that contribute to improving road safety, reducing congestion and increasing mobility on the roads. The SIDERA in-house development software has been installed in more than 350 km of tunnels and interurban roads around the world, including the SR99 in Seattle or the POMPT tunnel in Miami, where the administration of these tunnels has been automated, together to the management of electromechanical systems, control instrumentation and incident and user information management systems.
  • Advanced traffic management in road networks: SICE provides advanced solutions for the comprehensive management of road infrastructure, including accident monitoring and control systems that allow more precise and efficient decision making to maintain efficient flow on highways. In addition to providing road information to other support and emergency response systems, this system provides real-time information to drivers through dynamic road message systems. Its interfaces for operators allow a natural interaction with the system which allows an easy and quick response both in emergency situations and in daily traffic control on the highways.
  • Sustainability: We will highlight our initiatives and technologies aimed at sustainability, such as the monitoring and control of polluting emissions, the optimization of resources focused on reducing carbon emissions, the reduction of travel times and their consequent fuel consumption. , etc.

“The 91st Annual IBTTA Conference is a highly relevant event in the road infrastructure and tolling sector, and we are excited to participate in this 2023 edition in Seattle,” said Jose Ignacio García de Castro, President of SICE USA. “It is a unique opportunity to interact with other industry leaders and present our cutting-edge solutions, which are helping to improve mobility and road efficiency around the world.”
