The scope assigned to SICE includes the design, supply, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of all technical tunnel systems.

Remodelling project of all the Electromechanical and Instrumentation, Control & Automation Systems of the tunnel: Tunnel Ventilation System and Evacuation Gallery Pressurisation; Lighting System/Smart Lighting Control System; Pressurised Water System for Fire Extinguishing; Air-conditioning and Ventilation of Technical Rooms; CCTV and AID; Fire Detection and Alarm; Environmental Detection Sensors; Telephony; Emergency Posts; SCADA.

This initiative involves the added complexity that the tunnel is in operation, as at least one of the tubes will be kept open to traffic during the works. The project began in April 2021; the first tube opened to traffic in April 2023, and the scheduled opening date for the complete tunnel is May 2024.
