Supply for the implementation of the city's integral system for sustainable and efficient urban mobility (SIMUSET)
Urban mobility
Toledo, Spain
Ayuntamiento de Toledo
2024

The city of Toledo takes a firm step toward cleaner, safer, and more efficient mobility with the implementation of the City Mobility Platform.
The SIDERA SMARTCITY Management Platform, implemented by SICE, is a comprehensive solution for sustainable and efficient urban mobility, based on an open and modular architecture. It is characterized by its flexibility, scalability, and ease of use, allowing it to adapt to various project needs. The platform integrates multiple mobility services (transportation, traffic, parking) and manages them centrally, ensuring operational oversight through Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools.

It features a high level of interoperability with third-party systems and complies with international standards in traffic and automation (OPC DA, Modbus, ONVIF, etc.). Additionally, it facilitates data extraction, transformation, and storage, enabling efficient and real-time analysis of urban mobility. Its modular design ensures easy expansion and adjustment to new requirements, contributing to more efficient management of the city and its mobility resources.

SIDERA SMARTCITY (referred to as SIMUSET in the Toledo project) is a comprehensive solution for sustainable and efficient urban mobility, based on an open and modular architecture.
It is characterized by its flexibility, scalability, and ease of use, allowing it to adapt to various project needs. The platform integrates multiple mobility services (transportation, traffic, parking) and manages them centrally, ensuring operational oversight through Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools.

The platform integrates the SIDERA TRAFFIC and SIDERA ENFORCEMENT platforms, which manage various subsystems and applications that either previously existed or were implemented during the execution of this project:

  • Integration of Air Pollutant Monitoring Stations
  • Integration of Data Collection Stations (ETD)
  • Integration of License Plate Recognition System Application
  • Integration of Traffic Video Surveillance Application
  • Integration of Variable Message Panel (VMP) and Low Emission Zone (LEZ) Signage Control Application
  • Integration of Parking Availability Information System Application
  • Integration of Urban Access Control System Application
  • Integration of Georeferenced Incident Management System (Events)

Additionally, SICE has updated the Municipal Website and deployed a Mobile Application designed for user convenience and citizen engagement, available for both iOS and Android operating systems, and accessible via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Regarding the SIDERA ENFORCEMENT platform, the application enables intelligent and automated control of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) through an advanced management module that centralizes the control of monitoring points, detection and violation analysis, authorization configuration, and sanction proposals—all within a single, intuitive, and robust platform.

The technological deployment includes the installation of license plate recognition cameras (OCR)radarsred-light cameras, and variable message signs, all connected to the city’s communication network. Each component is installed following rigorous civil works and is fully integrated into the urban mobility ecosystem.

Thanks to this system, Toledo strengthens its commitment to emission reduction, mobility optimization, road safety improvement, and citizen information, positioning itself as a national benchmark in the implementation of sustainable technological solutions for urban management.
