Since the merger with SEI, SICE assumed the tasks of maintaining and running various Hydrographic Confederations in Spain.
These autonomous bodies are subsidiaries of this organization, along with others such as municipal partnerships, which are dedicated to the management of this vital resource in territories limited by their geographical features, instead of their provincial or regional boundaries.
The first major project that SICE carried out directly was the implementation of the Automatic Water Quality Information System (SAICA) for the Hydrographic Confederation of the North, in 2004.
Since then, and over the intervening years, the company has devoted its services to these bodies to offer them the best water management solutions, renewing the contracts for operating and maintaining the SAIH, SAICA, ROEA Systems for most of the hydrographic confederations from day one.
At the same time, it has prepared projects for various Hydrographic Basins to implement emergency plans for dams, dam monitoring, communication networks, canal controls, etc.
SICE's growing experience in the sector and its direct contact with clients enabled it to tackle other broader and more complex environmental projects in connection with the monitoring and control of supply facilities, treatment and purification of wastewater or desalination plants. SICE has been involved in projects such as the Control Centre for the Isabel II Canal, one of the most advanced in the world, maintaining its software since 2013, or the ambitious remote-control project to monitor the whole water cycle on the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa from 2015 onwards.
