SICE's relations with Madrid City Council date back to the origins of the company. SICE has worked on traffic control in Madrid since the installation of the city's first traffic light, in 1925. In this sector, the company provided the first solutions for the local control of each crossroads by installing regulators. Later, it would develop the zone controllers that enabled several crossroads to be coordinated. Finally, in response to the need to expand and improve traffic control in Madrid, SICE implemented a management solution using a control centre.

Another sector in which SICE has worked for Madrid City Council from day one is in its street lighting. After replacing the early gas and oil lights, the company installed new electric lights, not only in the streets of the city, but also in its ornamental elements, such as its fountains. Since the start of this century, it has responded to the desire of the Council to manage its power efficiently by updating its lighting systems. One example of this are the projects to replace incandescent bulbs with LEDS. From 2014, the company has designed a complete energy management system that not only controls the lighting but also the municipal facilities in order to make them more sustainable.

Even so, SICE's experiences in projects for Madrid Council extend to other areas of municipal management where the company has offered solutions, such as surveillance, control and security systems for urban traffic and transport systems, as well as waste management.

SICE intends to continue developing complete centralized management systems in the future to meet the needs of the city of Madrid and its residents. Its research and development work aimed at the continuous improvement of its management software means that the company can offer Madrid Council a tool that is capable of including all the solutions required to improve the life of all its citizens.
