SICE Australia is looking for a Senior Communications Engineer in VIC. The Senior Communications Engineer will provide technical expertise in network communication systems for various projects and tenders.

Description of Responsibilities:

· Providing all network-wise documentation such as PD, DD and IFC design, including reports, drawings, layouts, etc., in accordance with the requirements of the projects.

· Elaboration of bid documents for project tenders.

· Maintaining effective communication with other team members, clients and third parties to deliver a proper design and contribute towards the integration.

· Review of vendor’s specifications, technical information, data sheets, quotes, etc.

· Assisting in the development of testing and commissioning plans following the scope of works to pursue design acceptance to make a scalable network capable of integrating with other networks.

· Identify and mitigate potential network risks to integrate and deliver a compliant design.

· Designing and implementing new secure network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks

· Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including but not limited to routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP

· Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security


REQUISITOS

Required Qualifications and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, Telecommunications, Electronics engineering or similar

· Over 5 years of experience in planning, development, design, integration and delivery of technology within ICT or industrial communication projects

· Cisco certifications will be valued (CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Data Centre, CCNP Security, CCNP Service Provider, CCDA, CCDP)

· Strong experience with complex Campus Area Network architecture

· Strong experience with Industrial switching architectures and vendors mostly CISCO

· Experience with network monitoring applications based on SNMP

· Experience with network switches configuration, testing and commissioning

· Experience with firewalls

Essential Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

· Strong knowledge working with network protocols, redundancy technologies and applications (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, STP, LACP, vPC, Ipv4, Ipv6, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, 802.1q, 802.1ad [QinQ], Wireless Standards 802.11a, 802.11b/g/n, and 802.11ac, Cisco WLC, Cisco Prime (some exposure), GETVPN, DMVPN, IPSEC, GRE tunnelling, HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, IP SLA, ACL, VRF)

· Strong knowledge of switching and routing protocols and redundancy technologies (MSTP, OSPF, BGP, LACP, vPC)

· Deep knowledge of security and system hardening

· Hands-on experience in Cisco equipment including Cisco Nexus devices

· Hands-on experience in Cisco security equipment and other manufactures such as Palo Alto PA-5xxx, Fortinet

· Hands-on experience with multicast implementation and troubleshooting

· Hands-on troubleshooting experience (including capturing and analysing packets/sessions, log analysis)

· Proficiency in MS Office Tools: Word, Excel, Visio, etc.

· Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

· Good attention to detail

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
