March 27, 2019, Madrid, Spain |
World Water Day which is celebrated annually on March 22 aims to highlight the importance of this vital but scarce resource on our planet.
Just like every year, the Tajo Hydrographic Confederation has joined the challenge of "Leaving no one behind" by creating awareness to the youngest about the value of this essential building block of life. For this reason, a conference was held at the organization's headquarters in Madrid on March 21 and 22, 2019.
With the intention to raise awareness of this limited resource, students from 3rd grade of elementary and 3rd year of secondary school from educational centers near the central offices of the CHTajo participated in this initiative.
One of the activities included in the Awareness Workshops was a VISIT TO THE SAICA ROOM (designed and built under SICE's contract in 2018). The participants visited the Automatic Water Quality Information System (SAICA) in which SICE’s Technical Assistance personnel associated with the Maintenance and Operation of the SAICA System showed them how the automatic monitoring of the Quality Control of Water and Spill controls is carried out.
