SICE to continue with the operation, maintenance and conservation of Camporredondo and Compuerto dams (Palencia) for the Duero Water Authority

The contract, worth €379,169.05, is for a period of 24 months.

The river Carrión, all of which lies in the province of Palencia, running almost 200 km to its confluence with the Pisuerga, is regulated by two reservoirs (Camporredondo and Compuerto) in the Fuentes Carrionas protected nature area. Besides regulating the river, the reservoirs create and irrigation area of great importance for the economy of the provinces of Palencia and Valladolid. They form part of the "Reservoirs Route", visited by thousands of tourists every year.

The purpose of the service is to carry out operational tasks under normal conditions and provide support for the water authority in extraordinary conditions, as well as supporting the maintenance and conservation, surveying, inspection, surveillance, control, updating the technical archive and technical consulting on the affected infrastructures and dams.

The ambit of action includes the Camporredondo and Compuerto dams and their reservoirs, as well as the downstream section of the river, including all the associated facilities and supplementary elements related to optimal operations, such as access tracks, power and communications lines, etc
