Within the framework of the OASIS R&D project an integrated software module is being developed in the ITS application, with the aim for achieving real-time reporting of traffic-related alerts (weather conditions, accidents, traffic jams, etc.) via mobile phones and/or on-board equipment, such as the OBU developed by GMV and UVA in the framework of the project.
Using their on-board mobile device, drivers sign up for a traffic-alert service where they can customise the type of information received, according to the critical nature of the alerts, language etc. Thanks to this service and sending their geographical position, the system keeps them informed of any incidents that may affect their journey.
I2V-V2I messaging is adapted to the DATEX II protocol format — a European standard used for the Exchange of information between control centres.
The SW publication module and application for Android devices are currently being developed at SICE.
