The Tagus Water Authority shows again its trust in SICE awarding the company with the operation and maintenance of the Automatic Alert Station Network of the Automatic Water Quality Information System (AWQIS) of the Tagus basin for the next three years.
The AWQIS Network of the Tagus Hydrographic Basin is made up of 25 Automatic Alert Stations. Its main objective is to continuously monitor water quality in real time. The latter analyze representative parameters concerning water quality (turbidity, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, ammonium, COD/TOC, nitrates, chlorophyll, phycocyanine, phosphate, total phosphorus, etc.). The data gathered are sent to the Control Center in real time through VSAT, GPRS or DVB communications.
Within the scope of the contract, different works will also be carried out to update the Network, starting with the updating of the software on the Control Center computers and the adaptation and transfer of the Control Center to new units including new points on it.
In addition, the following items are included in the project: fieldwork, such as waste removal and management from off-duty sampling equipment or the supply and installation of new measuring equipment (ammonium analyzers, SAC probes, multipara-meter probes, PCs, self-positioning systems for the measurement of profiles or air conditioning equipment).
This project reflects SICE's leadership position in Spain as one of the most powerful technologists concerning Automatic Water Quality Information Systems.
