SICE will maintain the public lighting belonging to Almonte City Council for the next two years

This municipality, the largest in Huelva, is in a strategic location for tourism in the area due to its proximity to Doñana National Parke, El Rocío Village and Matalascañas beach.


Almonte City Council has relied on SICE's expertise in lighting installations and has decided to award the company with the control, operation, conservation and maintenance service of the electric public lighting facilities of the municipality for the next two years.

The service delivery mainly aims at ensuring the lighting continuity, preventing possible breakdowns and carrying out, if necessary, repairs, replacements, etc., necessary for maintaining the technical level of both lighting and equipment quality The contract also includes tasks aimed at maintaining an acceptable balance between the lighting provided and its cost, adapting the facilities to urban needs and minimizing the possible dangers that could negatively impact on people or objects.

Due to the characteristic tourist area in which the municipality is located (Doñana National Park, El Rocío Village and Matalascañas beach) the City Council pays particular attention to the proper functioning of its lighting facilities during la Romería de El Rocío, the popular festival in Almonte that brings together about one million pilgrims in the hermitage of the same name.

This contract joins more than other 14 awarded to SICE’s Energy and Energy Efficiency business line has achieved in Spain in 2017.
