Metro Madrid

At the end of the summer, the complete refurbishment works on the Suances, Torre Arias and Canillejas stations on Metro de Madrid's Line 5 are accomplished. Within this project, SICE has carried out the uninstallation works of the equipment essential for carrying out the civil works, as well as the subsequent installation of the same once the works have been completed and the stations waterproofed.

The company has acted on systems including access controls and video systems (security cameras) and passenger information systems (television indicators), as well as the replacement of the control panels in gates and the final testing of all the remote control systems of stations and communications.

In order to ensure the correct operation of all the systems above mentioned and due to the renovation of the stations channeling, replacement works have also been carried out on all the wiring of every system.

The work has been carried out in a very short period of time, taking advantage of the summer period (with fewer passengers), since the stations necessarily had to be reopened to the public at the beginning of September. Due to the complexity of the work to be carried out by the different companies involved in the renovation process (several builders), as well as the short time available for its execution, it has been necessary to deploy a significant amount of resources and coordinate the progress of civil works with the activities carried out by SICE.
