Ports and Airports

Ports and airports are high-capacity infrastructures connecting industries and passengers with the outside world. To achieve efficient freight and passenger mobility, it is essential to design facilities that optimise transit times.

Within this context, access control, security and communications systems play a crucial role, and must be efficient, secure and reliable, as well as affordable and easy to use for operators and users. This promotes a friendly and attractive environment that encourages sustainable mobility, boosting economic development and connectivity with the outside world.

Airport environments in particular require operating models capable of integrating different types of usually interrelated services and facilities into a unified platform. As system integrators and suppliers, at SICE we offer distinctive technological solutions adapted to this type of installation.

Security systems

Security systems in port and airport environments must be tailored to their implicit needs. The large area covered by ports and airports requires wide-ranging security systems, integrated into a platform and coordinated with access control systems and other systems related to the general operation of the airport or port service.

  • CCTV video surveillance system.
  • Anti-intrusion and perimeter systems.
  • Access control systems and patrols.
  • Biometric security, facial recognition, fingerprints, etc.
  • Integration and centralisation of security systems.

SICE offers engineering, installation, commissioning, configuration, maintenance, training and certification of user information and dynamic advertising system solutions interrelated with the air or port traffic control system, such as: public address, intercom and Departures/Arrivals information panels with passenger information.

SICE has a division with extensive experience in the design, installation and commissioning of car park equipment. SUMIPAR, part of the SICE Tecnología y Sistemas Group, has been installing parking control systems for more than thirty years. Its main business focuses on covering the needs of any type of car parking facility, as well as the control and automation of access and payment methods, covering all needs and adapting the solution to the requirements of each client.

SICE has a space-by-space guidance system for both indoors and outdoors, including floor signalling and a vacant space indicator. The company installed the first system of its kind in Spain in the car park of Madrid airport’s T4 terminal.

Typically interconnected with airport security systems, access control systems can include everything from patrol management, access and personnel presence, biometric security, facial recognition, fingerprint and number plate identification.

These are multi-service communications and security networks within airport infrastructure, both wired and wireless, trunk and branch, integrating all data, video and audio services through systems delivering service quality. SICE brings its experience in ATM, 10Gigabit, WDM, SDH, WIFI, WIMAX, TETRA, etc. installations, and also installs second-level structured networks.
