Contract awarded for Seville Metro ticketing and tolling systems
The Seville Metro concessionaire has commissioned SICE to implement its tolling and transport-ticketing system
September 11, 2006 // Seville, Spain
The scope of this project includes the supply, assembly and subsequent implementation of tolling and ticketing control equipment for the foyers at all 23 stations on Interurban Line 1 of the Seville Metro, plus the implementation of customer-service posts for the generation and repair of the various types of season tickets defined by the operator and the transport consortium.

This ticketing (issue and checking) system has been designed taking into account the integration of the Seville Metro into the Seville Metropolitan Area Transport Consortium’s fare system, thus favouring the consolidation of a transport system at the core of communications in the municipal district.

The main function of the automatic ticket machines is to supply valid transport tickets for journeys on the Seville Metro.

The technology to be installed is based on Mifare Typo A contactless cards.

All the elements and devices in the access-control system are inter-communicated via an Ethernet network using the standard TCP/IP protocol.

71 automatic ticket machines featuring contactless technology, together with 71 PNG corridors, 23 PMR corridors, 2 customer-service posts and 6 portable inspection units.
